Yes. Since Direction 1 / Classic is final, I’d lock it as a small identity system rather than letting Cursor reinterpret it.
The one caveat: the concept board is a rendered image, so Cursor should not trace pixels from it and call that the logo. The production version should use Geist and a deliberately constructed LV glyph. Here’s the handoff I’d give Cursor.
LASTVET — FINAL BRAND IDENTITY¶
Status¶
FINAL APPROVED DIRECTION:
Direction 1 — Classic
Do not explore additional logo directions.
Do not redesign the identity.
The task is now to faithfully implement the approved identity across the LastVet websites and iOS application.
1. BRAND ARCHITECTURE¶
LastVet is the MASTER BRAND.
Meridian is a FEATURE within LastVet.
They belong to the same design system but deliberately have different symbols.
LastVet¶
Represents:
- the complete system
- veteran ownership/control
- trust
- continuity
- the veteran’s record
- coordination
- home/base
- the place where care comes together
Meridian¶
Represents:
- navigation
- matching
- finding care
- movement
- pathways
Therefore:
Do not make LastVet visually resemble Meridian.
Their relationship comes from:
- typography
- restraint
- geometry
- spacing
- interface design
- premium visual treatment
NOT from sharing the same symbol.
2. LASTVET PRIMARY LOGO¶
The primary LastVet identity is the WORDMARK:
LastVet
Use:
Geist
as the production typeface unless an existing LastVet design token specifies the exact Geist variant.
Start with:
and visually compare against the approved reference.
The desired appearance is:
- substantial
- clean
- editorial
- modern
- confident
- human
- premium
Avoid excessive geometric modification to the letters.
The sophistication comes primarily from:
- typography
- spacing
- proportion
- whitespace
rather than decorative treatment.
3. WORDMARK CASING¶
Always use:
LastVet
NOT:
unless a specific tiny technical context requires otherwise.
The capital L and V are intentional.
4. PRIMARY COLORS¶
LastVet Navy¶
Primary brand anchor.
Use for:
- logo
- major typography
- navigation
- dark surfaces
- primary brand identity
Warm Off-White¶
Primary light surface.
Use instead of sterile pure white where appropriate.
Warm Black¶
Editorial/body ink where the design system calls for a softer alternative to navy.
Stone¶
Secondary/muted warm-neutral accent.
5. MERIDIAN COLOR¶
Meridian owns:
Light-mode Meridian purple.
and:
Dark-mode Meridian purple.
These colors are RESERVED FOR MERIDIAN.
Do not use Meridian purple decoratively throughout LastVet.
Purple should communicate:
Meridian / care matching
not generic LastVet branding.
6. PRIMARY LOGO — LIGHT MODE¶
On:
render:
in:
Preferred basic lockup:
No symbol is required beside it.
The wordmark IS the primary logo.
7. PRIMARY LOGO — DARK MODE¶
On:
render:
in:
Do not use pure white unless required by accessibility or an existing system constraint.
8. OPTIONAL DESCRIPTOR LOCKUP¶
For contexts where the product needs explanation, use:
The descriptor is NOT part of the permanent logo artwork.
It is a contextual lockup.
Use uppercase Geist with increased tracking.
Approximate starting point:
relative to the wordmark.
Tune optically.
Do not use this descriptor at small sizes.
9. LOGO CLEAR SPACE¶
Minimum clear space around the wordmark:
approximately the height of the lowercase a.
No UI elements, text, rules, imagery or icons should enter this space.
Prefer additional whitespace whenever possible.
10. MINIMUM SIZE¶
Full wordmark:
Recommended minimum digital width:
Below that size, evaluate legibility.
Do NOT automatically substitute the LV glyph in normal website contexts.
The wordmark should remain the primary brand identifier.
11. APP ICON — FINAL¶
The standalone LastVet symbol is:
LV monogram
It is deliberately separate from the wordmark.
The approved conceptual construction is:
with:
- strong vertical L
- geometric V
- shared visual relationship
- compact footprint
- no surrounding symbol required
The mark should read immediately as:
even at small sizes.
12. CRITICAL LV CONSTRAINT¶
The LV mark must NEVER create a medical cross.
Do not:
- intersect L and V into a +
- add a plus
- add horizontal/vertical medical geometry
- add a cross behind the letters
The previous LV+ identity is retired.
13. LV CONSTRUCTION¶
Construct the LV as custom vector geometry rather than simply typing:
The approved reference has:
- tall, substantial L
- compact V positioned toward the lower/right portion of the L
- geometric cuts
- consistent visual weight
- restrained negative space
The L should feel slightly dominant.
The V should remain clearly readable.
At small size the entire symbol should form one memorable silhouette.
Build the master geometry in normalized coordinates:
Then export/render at all required sizes.
14. LV OPTICAL PRINCIPLES¶
The monogram should feel:
- stable
- grounded
- calm
- strong
- precise
NOT:
- aggressive
- militaristic
- tactical
- futuristic
- AI-like
Avoid razor-sharp decorative cuts.
Use only enough geometry to create a distinctive LV relationship.
15. APP ICON — LIGHT¶
Background:
Glyph:
No gradients.
No shadows baked into the artwork.
No borders unless required by the platform implementation.
16. APP ICON — DARK / ALTERNATE¶
Background:
Glyph:
Maintain identical geometry.
Do not redesign the mark for dark mode.
17. FAVICON¶
Use the LV monogram.
Required testing sizes:
At 16px:
simplify optical details if necessary.
The priority is:
Create a favicon-specific optical version only if the master glyph becomes muddy at 16px.
18. APP ICON EXPORTS¶
Generate proper source artwork and platform assets for:
Do not manually resize raster files repeatedly.
Render each raster asset from the vector master.
19. MASTER ASSETS¶
Create:
/brand
/lastvet
lastvet-wordmark-navy.svg
lastvet-wordmark-reverse.svg
lastvet-wordmark-descriptor-navy.svg
lastvet-wordmark-descriptor-reverse.svg
lastvet-lv-navy.svg
lastvet-lv-reverse.svg
lastvet-app-icon-light.svg
lastvet-app-icon-dark.svg
favicon.svg
favicon-16.png
favicon-32.png
favicon-48.png
app-icon-1024.png
Use SVG as the canonical source wherever possible.
20. WEB IMPLEMENTATION¶
Create reusable brand components.
Example:
API:
Supported variants:
Supported sizes:
Optional:
Do not implement the logo as editable live text in production UI if doing so causes inconsistent rendering.
Prefer the approved SVG wordmark once finalized.
21. GLYPH COMPONENT¶
Create:
API:
This component uses the LV monogram.
Do not substitute Meridian’s symbol.
22. DESIGN TOKENS¶
Add brand tokens through the project’s existing token architecture.
Conceptually:
--lastvet-navy: #0B1426;
--lastvet-surface: #F7F5F2;
--lastvet-ink: #1A1814;
--lastvet-stone: #5C534A;
--meridian-purple: #4C1D95;
--meridian-purple-dark: #7C3AED;
Do not create duplicate token systems if equivalents already exist.
Audit the existing project first.
23. WEBSITE HEADER¶
Preferred header treatment:
Do not routinely place the LV icon beside the wordmark.
The wordmark should have enough authority to stand independently.
Preferred hierarchy:
rather than:
The latter unnecessarily duplicates the identity.
24. MOBILE NAVIGATION¶
Use the LastVet wordmark whenever sufficient horizontal space exists.
For extremely constrained contexts, the LV glyph may be used.
Do not default to the glyph merely because the interface is mobile.
25. APP¶
The iOS HOME SCREEN icon uses:
LV monogram
The LastVet app itself should use the parent-brand LV.
Meridian remains an internal feature and uses the purple Pathways mark inside the application.
Hierarchy:
Inside application:
Do not use Meridian as the LastVet app icon.
26. MERIDIAN RELATIONSHIP¶
The brands should look related when placed together:
They are siblings in one design system with different roles.
LastVet:
system / home / control
Meridian:
navigation / matching / movement
Do not attempt to make their glyph geometry match.
27. TYPOGRAPHY¶
Primary UI family:
Geist
Use the project’s existing Geist installation if present.
Suggested hierarchy:
Brand wordmark:
UI:
Editorial display typography should remain restrained.
Do not introduce a second decorative brand font merely to make LastVet appear more premium.
28. BRAND FEEL¶
Every implementation decision should reinforce:
Avoid visual language associated with:
MILITARY ORGANIZATION
VA
DEFENSE CONTRACTOR
HEALTH INSURANCE
HOSPITAL SYSTEM
AI STARTUP
CRYPTO
SAAS DASHBOARD TEMPLATE
29. ABSOLUTE PROHIBITIONS¶
Never introduce into the LastVet identity:
- medical cross
- plus symbol
- caduceus
- heartbeat
- pill
- flag
- stars
- eagle
- dog tags
- camouflage
- military stencil
- shield with military styling
- Meridian road/pathways
- purple
- eye
- iris
- pupil
- surveillance lens
- radar
- glowing orb
- sparkle
- AI gradient
- abstract AI sphere
- swoosh
30. WEBSITE MIGRATION¶
Before changing anything:
Audit the repository for:
existing LastVet logos
LV+ assets
old app icons
favicons
OpenGraph images
PWA manifests
browser metadata
structured metadata
email/header assets
mobile navigation
footer
login/auth screens
loading screens
iOS asset catalogs
Android assets if present
Search specifically for:
Produce a list of every location using the old identity.
Then replace them systematically.
Do NOT delete old assets until all references have been migrated and verified.
31. WEB METADATA¶
Update all relevant:
favicon
apple-touch-icon
PWA icon
manifest icons
OpenGraph brand imagery
browser tab icon
bookmarks
home-screen icon
Verify there are no cached references to the old LV+ artwork in source.
32. iOS ASSET CATALOG¶
Inspect the existing:
and AppIcon configuration.
Replace the production LastVet application icon with the approved LV asset.
Generate sizes using Apple’s currently required asset structure for the project’s deployment target rather than blindly assuming a legacy icon-size list.
Do not put transparency into the final App Store icon if Apple’s current requirements prohibit it.
33. DARK MODE¶
Wordmark:
App UI glyphs should follow the same principle.
The installed iOS home-screen icon does not need to dynamically switch simply because the application UI enters dark mode.
If the project’s supported iOS version provides platform-specific alternate appearance icon support and the team chooses to use it, implement the warm-white/navy alternate without changing the LV geometry.
34. ACCESSIBILITY¶
Logo SVGs should have appropriate accessible naming where they communicate brand identity.
Decorative instances should be hidden from assistive technology when accompanying accessible LastVet text.
Do not create redundant announcements such as:
35. QUALITY CONTROL¶
Verify the identity at:
Especially inspect:
Do not assume that because the 1024px version looks good the 16px version works.
36. FINAL VISUAL TEST¶
Create a temporary internal brand test page containing:
Wordmark¶
Light:
Dark:
App icon¶
at:
Brand family¶
Display:
LastVet must clearly read as the parent brand.
Meridian must clearly read as a feature.
They should feel designed by the same team without looking like variations of one logo.
37. IMPLEMENTATION ORDER¶
Do this in phases.
Phase 1 — Audit¶
Inspect repositories and identify:
- framework
- design tokens
- current typography
- current logo assets
- favicon implementation
- web metadata
- app icon implementation
- old LV+ references
Do not change files yet.
Report findings.
Phase 2 — Production Assets¶
Create/refine:
- LastVet wordmark
- reverse wordmark
- LV master glyph
- reverse LV
- favicon
- app icon
Show these for approval before broad deployment.
Phase 3 — Web¶
Replace:
- headers
- mobile headers
- footers
- authentication
- metadata
- favicon
- PWA assets
- OpenGraph assets
Phase 4 — iOS¶
Replace:
- AppIcon
- relevant parent-brand marks
- launch/brand surfaces where applicable
Do NOT replace Meridian assets.
Phase 5 — QA¶
Test:
- desktop
- mobile
- retina
- light mode
- dark mode
- favicon
- installed app icon
- iOS simulator/device
- social previews
Search the entire repository again for old LV+ references.
Phase 6 — Report¶
Return:
- files changed
- assets created
- old assets still present
- old assets safe to delete
- screenshots/previews
- any places requiring manual deployment or external platform updates
FINAL RULE¶
Do not “improve,” reinterpret, modernize, or explore the identity during implementation.
The brand decision has been made.
Implement:
LastVet Classic wordmark + LV monogram.
The goal is consistency and production quality.
One thing I’d do before deployment¶
I would have Cursor stop after Phase 2 and show you the actual SVGs. The concept image gives us the direction, but the LV monogram geometry is the piece that needs to become an exact master asset. At 16px, tiny differences in the L/V spacing will matter more than almost anything else.
Once Cursor generates lastvet-wordmark-navy.svg and lastvet-lv-navy.svg, send those two files here. I can inspect the actual vectors at 16/32/64px before you let Cursor propagate them throughout the websites and iOS assets.
