my.last.vet copy spec — coordination OS via "filling the cracks"

Source of truth for veteran landing copy (veteran-landing-sections.tsx, lib/veteran-journey.ts).

Core reframe

The system has cracks veterans fall through. LastVet fills them. Every capability is a crack getting filled, honestly staged Built (veteran-live now) vs Building (in progress / planned).

Section 1 — Hero

  • Eyebrow: Your care, on your terms
  • Headline: You shouldn't fall through the cracks. So we filled them.
  • Sub: The VA, community care, the therapist you saw once — none of it talks to each other. You fall through the gaps between them: the referral that never happened, the record that didn't follow you, the check-in no one made. LastVet is the layer that was never built — the one that catches you.
  • Honest-claims line: unchanged (+ /claims link)
  • CTA: Get early access

Section 2 — Always free (unchanged)

Providers pay. Veterans never do.

Section 3 — The cracks, and how each is filled

Intro: Here's where veterans fall through. And here's how each gap gets filled.

Card copy

1. Your record doesn't follow you. → Your record, whole. [Built]

  • Crack: You leave the VA and your record stays behind. Community care never sees it. You become the courier between systems that were never wired together.
  • Fill: Log in with your VA credentials. Your conditions, medications, allergies, and labs appear on a timeline you can actually read. Your record, whole, in one place you control.

2. No one can find care that fits. → Care, mapped and matched. [Find care built · Meridian preview]

  • Crack: You search alone. No one knows what's near you, what fits your situation, or whether a provider can see what you've already been through.
  • Fill: Live VA facility data on a map you can search yourself. Meridian (preview): care matched to your own record, cited, on your terms — not a black-box referral.

3. The referral falls apart between systems. → The coordination loop. [Building]

  • Crack: The referral goes out. Nothing follows. You chase it alone while VA and community care stay in separate silos.
  • Fill: An enrollment loop that tracks your next step, keeps you and your providers aligned, and closes the gap between systems.

4. You do all the work. → You act, in the app. [Building]

  • Crack: Confirming appointments, submitting forms, responding to requests, uploading documents — all on you, across email, phone, and portals.
  • Fill: Confirm, submit, respond, and upload natively in the app. The coordination layer handles the handoff so you're not the project manager of your own care.

5. No one checks on you. → Radio Check. [Building]

  • Crack: Between visits, silence. No one asks how you're doing unless you reach out first.
  • Fill: A simple check-in when you want it. One tap to the Veterans Crisis Line when you need it. Never assesses. Never watches.

6. You can't see your own progress. → Status & progress. [Building]

  • Crack: You don't know where you are in your own care journey. Steps blur together. Progress is invisible.
  • Fill: A clear view of where you are, what's done, and what's next in your coordination.

7. You're invisible to the people who could help. → Community. [Building]

  • Crack: Peers, advocates, and community organizations that could help don't know you exist or what you need.
  • Fill: Connect with the people and organizations that can support your path, on your terms.

8. You never know if anything happened. → Notifications. [Building]

  • Crack: Did the referral go through? Did someone read your release? You find out late, if at all.
  • Fill: Honest updates when something moves in your coordination, so you're not left guessing.

9. No one can prove your care actually worked. → Verified outcomes. [Building]

  • Crack: Nobody closes the loop. No one can say whether care helped, for you or anyone like you.
  • Fill: Outcomes you can see and share, verified against your record, on your terms.

Section 4 — What you can do today

Reframe the live 5-step flow as the honest subset within the bigger cracks story. All Built.

Section 5 — Mission close

  • Headline: The crack no one talks about is the one you don't come back from.
  • Body: Now imagine someone who isn't able-bodied. Who doesn't have the stamina, or the willpower, or a hundred hours. They don't get care. They stop asking.
  • Close: LastVet was built to fill that one. Never leave a man behind isn't a slogan here. It's why the whole thing exists.
  • CTA: Get early access

Staging rules

  • Built = veteran-live on the shipped app now.
  • Building = built / in progress / planned, not yet veteran-live.
  • Screenshots ship post-iOS (honest placeholders until then). Tracked in Muster: last-vet-built-today-coordination-os-refresh.
